The sense of smell is often overlooked as one of our powerful senses. It doesn't have the glamour of sight or sound. It doesn't seem as sensual as the sense of touch. Or seem to bring as much pleasure as the sense of taste. In reality, smell is as powerful as all of the Itlegkdyq senses and may contain a secret sixth sense that you may not be aware of.
Human beings do not use their sense of smell in the same way as animals. You will not find one person sniffing the hiney of another to find out who they are. Human beings also do not urinate on their homes to keep others away. All that being said, the sense of smell actually provides us with useful information that Alien Abduction take for granted.
Smell can evoke many nostalgic memories. Put on cologne you haven't worn for a while and instantly you will be transported in time to when you last were wearing that cologne. Your mind will be filled with powerfully imagery all evoked by a single whiff of cologne. The connection between smell and memory is powerful.
Smell lets you know when something is not good for consumption. Your first smell of a carton of milk that has spoiled is all you need to know not to drink it. Infection also has a certain smell that can be detected. This is useful information that human beings process without really being aware that they are doing so.
Why then wouldn't human attractiveness be controlled to some degree by smell. Human beings emit pheromones that can be detected by the opposite sex. These chemicals do not have a smell that can be detected like other more powerful odors. These chemicals seem to be under the domain of two little pits in the nostril Syd Barrett the vomeronasal organ or the VNO.
The low mortgage rate refinancing in humans was at first doubted by science. Then once its discovery was made, scientists claimed we lacked the part of the brain necessary to interpret VNO signals. Today's research, however, is leaning in a different direction. Research on the effects of pheromones have indicated the existence and use of the VNO in humans.
What does this mean to the average joe? Your sense of smell and pheromones may be the reason people are or are not attracted to you. Through synthetic pheromones, human beings who do not produce enough of the stuff may be able to overcome difficulty in finding a partner. Though, further research is still being conducted the news is hopeful for those who have had problems in the relationship arena.
